The Gospel According to John
1
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with Elohim, and Elohim was the Word. 2 This one was in the beginning with Elohim. 3 All things began to exist through them, and apart from them not even one thing began to exist that has existed. 4 In them was life, and the life was the light of humanity, and the light shone in the darkness, and the darkness could not grasp it.
5 There came a human sent from Elohim. His name was John. 6 He came as a witness to testify about the Light so that all would believe through the one. 7 He was not the Light, rather, he testified about the Light. 8 The true Light was the one who illuminates every human coming to the world. 9 The one was in the world, and the world began its existence through them, yet the world did not know them. 10 They came to their own, and their own did not receive them. 11 But to whomever did receive them, they gave authority to become sons of Elohim — those who believed in the one’s name were fathered, not from blood, nor from will of flesh, nor from will of man, but from Elohim. 12 The Word became flesh and tabernacled among us, and we saw their glory; glory like a unique child of a father: full of grace and truth. 13 John testified about the one, and cried out, saying, “This is the one of whom I said, “The one coming after me has precedence over me because they existed before me.”” 14 For out of the one’s fullness we received everything, including grace to replace grace: for the Torah was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through the Messiah Josh. 15 No one has ever seen Elohim; the unique Son — who is in the lap of the Father — portrays him.

This is the testimony of John:
1 When the Jews sent priests and Levites out of Jerusalem to ask him, “Who are you?” He confessed ,and did not deny, and professed: “I am not the Messiah.”
2 And they questioned him, “Who then? Are you Elijah?”
And he said, “I am not.”
“Are you the Prophet?”
And he answered, “No.”
3 Then they said to him, “Who are you, so that we may give an answer to those who sent us? What do you say about yourself?”
4 He said, “”I am a voice crying in the wilderness: Make straight the way of Yahweh”, as the prophet Isaiah said.”
5 Now, they were sent by the Pharisees, and they questioned him and said to him, “Why, then, do you baptize, if you are not the Messiah, nor Elijah, nor the Prophet?”
6 John answered them saying, “I baptize with water, but amongst you stands one whom you don't know, one who comes after me, one who is before me, of whom, I am not worthy to loose the thong of his sandal.” 7 This began in Bethany, on the other side of the Jordan, where John was baptizing.
8 The next day, he saw Josh coming towards him, and said, “Behold, the Lamb of Elohim who is taking away the sin of the world! This is whom I spoke over: “Behind me comes a man who comes before me because he existed before me.” 9 Even I did not recognize him; yet I came baptizing with water so that he would be manifested to Israel.” 10 John testified, saying, “I have seen the Ruach coming down out of heaven like a dove, and it remained on him. 11 Yet I did not recognize him, but the one who sent me to baptize with water said to me, “On whom you see the Ruach descending and abiding, he is the one baptizing with the holy Ruach.” 12 Even I have seen, and have testified, for this is the Son of Elohim.”
13 Again, the next day, John was standing with two of his students and looked at Josh walking, and he said, “Look, the Lamb of Elohim.”
14 The two students heard him speaking and followed Josh. So Josh turned and watched them follow and said to them, “What are you looking for?”
15 They said to him, “Rabbi (which translated says: ‘Teacher’), where are you staying?”
16 He said to them, “Come and see.” So, they came and saw where he stayed, and stayed with him that day. It was about the tenth hour.
17 One of the two who heard John and followed him was Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother. 18 This one first found his brother Simon, and said to him, “We have found the Messiah (which translated is ‘The Anointed’).” He led him to Josh.
19 nJosh looked at him and said, “You are Simon, son of John, you are called Kayfas (which means rock).”
20 The next day, he wanted to leave for Galilee and found Philip, and Josh said to him, “Follow me.”
21 Now, Philip was from Baythsayheeda, of the city of Andrew and Peter. 22 Philip found Nathaniel and said to him, “We found the one of whom Moses in the Torah and also the Prophets wrote — Josh from Nazareth, the son of Joseph.”
23 Nathaniel said to him, “Can anything good be from Nazareth?”
Philip said to him, “Come and see.”
24 Josh saw Nathaniel coming to him, and he said about him, “Look, truly an Israelite in whom is no deceit.”
25 Nathaniel said to him, “From what source have you known me?”
26 Josh answered and said to him, “Before Philip called, you were under a fig tree, I saw you.”
27 Nathaniel responded to him, “Rabbi, you are the Son of Elohim, you are the King of Israel.”
28 Josh responded and said to him, “Because I said to you, “I saw you under the fig tree,” you believe. You shall see greater things than these.” 29 And he said to him, “Genuinely, I say to you: you shall see the sky open and the messengers of Elohim go up and come down on the Son of Man.”
30 On the third day, a wedding happened in Kana, Galilaya, and Josh’s mother was there. 31 Josh and his disciples were also invited to the wedding. 32 Short on wine, Josh’s mother tells him, “They don’t have wine.”
33 “So what, woman? My hour has not yet come.”
34 His mother says to the servants, “Whatever he tells you: do.”
35 There were six stone water jugs set there according to the ceremonial cleansing of the Jews, holding two or three measures. 36 Josh says to them, “Fill the jugs with water.” 37 And they filled them up to the brim. 38 And he said to them, “Now draw some and carry it to the master of the feast.” And they carried it.
40 When the master of the feast tasted the water that had become wine, and didn’t know where it was from -- but the servants knew, having drawn the water — the master of the feast called the bridegroom and said, “Everybody sets out the good wine first, then the inferior once drunk; you kept the good wine until now.”
41 This inaugurated the signs of Josh in Kana, Galilaya. 42 His glory was revealed. And his students believed in him.
43 After this, he, and his mother, and his brothers, and his students went down to Kapernaoum and didn’t stay there many days.
2 And they questioned him, “Who then? Are you Elijah?”

1 The Passover of the Jews was nearing, and Josh went up to Jerusalem and found those selling oxen, sheep, and doves, and currency exchangers sitting in the temple. 2 And having made a whip of cords, he drove out both sheep and oxen, and he poured out the currency exchangers’ coins, and overturned the tables. 3 And to those selling doves, he said, “Take those away form here! Do not make my Father’s house a market-house!” 4 His students remembered that it’s written:
“The zeal of your house will consume me.”
5 So the Jews answered saying to him, “What sign do you show us for doing these things?”
6 Josh answered saying, “Destroy the temple, and in three days I will awaken it.”
7 Then the Jews said, “This temple has been under construction for forty-six years and you will raise it up in three days?” 8 But the one was taking about his body. 9 When he was roused from the dead his students remembered that he said this, and they believed the Writings and the word that Josh had spoken.
10 Then when he was in Jerusalem during the Passover, during the feast, many believed in his name, seeing the signs that he was doing. 11 But Josh didn’t entrust himself to them, knowing them, because he had no need for anyone to testify about humanity, for he knew what was in humans.
