Jonah

1 YHWH’s word became to Dove son of Faithfulness saying, 2 “Stand up! Go to Nineveh, the gargantuan city. Proclaim over it that their evil has come up to my face.”
3 Jonah stood up and fled from the face of YHWH to Tarseesh. He went down to Yapho, found a ship going to Tarsheesh, gave the fare, and went down into it to go with them to Tarsheesh.
4 YHWH hurled a colossal wind on the sea, and a monstrous wind storm became on the sea. The ship thought it would break into pieces. 5 Afraid, the mariners cried out to each man’s elohim and threw the cargo that was on the ship into the sea to be swift. Jonah went down the the bottom of the ship to lie down and went into a deep sleep. 6 The captain approached and said, “How are you in a deep sleep? Stand up! Call on your Elohim, maybe your Elohim will smooth us out so that we will not die!” 7 Then to his fellow men said, “Come cast lots to know who’s bad this is on us.” They cast lots and the lots fell on Jonah. 8 They said to him, “Please, reveal to us why? Whose wrong is this on us? What is your job? Where do you come from? What land? Which people are you?” 9 He said to them, “I am an Eberite and I fear YHWH the Elohim of the Heavens, who made the sea and dry land. 10 The people were afraid. Immensely terrified. They asked him, “Why have you made this?” The people knew that he fled the face of YHWH for he revealed it to them. 11 They asked him, “What should we do to make it quiet on the sea,” for the sea was coming in even stormier.
12 He said to them, “Pick me up and hurl me into the sea, then quiet will be on the sea. For you know that it is because of me that this astronomical wind storm is over us.” 13 The people rowed to return to dry land but they could not, for the sea came in even stormier over them. 14 They called to YHWH asking, “Please! YHWH! Please do not end our souls{throats}. Do not put this mans blood on us for we are innocent and will do what makes you happy.” 15 They picked up Jonah and hurled him into the sea and the sea stood from its raging. 16 The people were afraid. Immensely terrified. They offered YHWH a sacrifice and vowed vows.

1 YHWH had prepared a colossal fish to swallow Jonah. And it became. Jonah was in the organs of the fish for three days and three nights. 2 Jonah prayed to YHWH Elohim from the guts of the fish. 3 He said,
“I called out in my distress to YHWH and he answered me
From the guts of Sheol I called out and you heard my voice
4 You flung me into the depths
The heart of the seas
5 Currents surrounded me
Breakers and waves passed over me
6 I said, I have been driven out from the sight of your eye
Yet, again I look to your holy temple
7 The waters surrounded me
even to my soul{throat}
The watery abyss wrapped around me
weeds bind my head
8 I went down the cut of the mountain to the frame of the earth
Yet you brought up my life up from the pit
9 YHWH my Elohim
10 When my throat{soul} collapsed on me I remembered YHWH and entered your holy temple to pray
11 Those who preserve empty breath forsake their mercy
But with sounds of thanksgiving, I sacrifice to you what I vowed
Whole salvation belongs to YHWH”
14 YHWH spoke to the fish and it vomited out Jonah onto dry land.

1 The word of YHWH became a second time in Jonah saying, 3 “Stand up. Go to Nineveh, that gargantuan city, and proclaim to it the proclamation I spoke.” 3 So Jonah stood up and went to Nineveh, to deliver the word of YHWH.
4 Nineveh had become a humongous city of the elohim and was a three day walk. 5 Going into the city, Jonah tore through on the first days walk. He proclaimed saying, “Yet 40 days and Nineveh will be flipped.” 6 The people of Nineveh believed Elohim and proclaimed a fast and dawned sackcloth from the most monumental even to the teeniest. 7 The word reached the king of Nineveh, he stood up from his throne, he passed his robe and dawned sackcloth and sat in ashes 8 and cried throughout Nineveh,
“A decision from the great king:
Man nor beast
herd nor flock
neither taste anything
nor eat
nor drink water
9 Dawn sackcloth:
man and beast
Scream to Elohim
Everyone turn around
from the wrong path
from the violence in our palms
10 Who knows how to turn around and apologize
so that Elohim will turn around from his burning anger
and we will not perish.”
11 Elohim saw their works, that they turned around from the wrong path, and Elohim apologized over the wrong he said he would do on them and did not do it.

1 It seemed wrong to Jonah. Very wrong. And he burned with anger. 2 He interceded with YHWH and said, “Please YHWH! Was this not what I said even when I was in my land? 3 Thats why I fled to Tarsheesh, for I know that you, El, are gracious, compassionate, patient, abundant in loving kindness, and consoling over wrong. Now, YHWH, please! Take my soul{throat} from me, for it would be more pleasant to die than to live.” 4 YHWH said, “Is it pleasing for you to burn with anger?”
5 So Jonah went out from the city, sat east of the city, made a shelter for himself there, and sat in the shade underneath until he sees what would become of the city. 6 YHWH Elohim allotted a plant to rise over Jonah to become shade for his head to snatch him from wrong. Jonah rejoiced for the plant, and was mountainously joyful. 7 Elohim raised a worm the next morning to smite the plant into withering. 8 And it happened that when the sun rose, Elohim allotted a scorching wind from the east, and the sun smote above, so Jonah wrapped his head and wished death for his nephesh, and said, “It would be good for me to die rather than to live.” 9 Elohim said to Jonah, “Is it right for you to burn with anger over the plant?” And he said, “It is right for me to burn with anger, even unto death!” 10 YHWH said, “If you pitied over the plant which you did not labor for, nor grew like a son in the night — which, as a son, perished in the night — 11 should I not pity over Nineveh, the enormous city, which is more than 12 x 10,000 humans who cannot discern their right hand from their left and their many cattle?”
